Direct Manipulation animation.

  • Trash can metaphor Dropping an object onto the trash can could mean (from the user viewpoint) "delete the object that has been dragged and dropped into the trash can." Here, the drag and drop does not move an object from one point to another; instead, it performs an action.
  • The trash can is initially empty. Once the user drags an object to it, the trash can is full. Notice how the feedback is immediate.
